The amicus brief provides background on rampant online infringement by offshore e-commerce operators, the challenges rights owners face with attempting service of process on these operators, and why electronic service of process is appropriate and necessary to combat online infringement.

SAFE filed an amicus brief in Yinnv Liu v. Monthly, et al. in the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals (Case No. 25-2074). The amicus brief addresses Appellant ecommerce sellers’ challenges to personal jurisdiction and service. The filing also provides the Seventh Circuit insight into the operation of ecommerce stores operating on Walmart.com online.
